11.1 Adjusting UI Language
You
can choose between 3 UI languages - English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional
Chinese. You can do it by checking corresponding language name from under the
"UI" submenu.
11.2 Switching between Enlarged UI and Normal UI
The
normal UI of 24Guru is enough in most cases. However, sometimes you may
run into a question with a long list of answers, or you may want to
submit a long list of answers to be checked by 24Guru. In the second
situation, an enlarged UI may be more comfortable.
You
can switch on or off enlarged UI by checking
on or off the menu item "Enlarged UI" under the "UI"
submenu.
11.3 Adjusting Background Image / Background Color
You
can choose any bitmap file as the background image of 24Guru. If you like
pure color, you can also pick any color as its background. You can decide the configuration
for
background image or background color in the "Background" dialog box
which can be opened by clicking the "Background..." command from under
the "UI" submenu.
Besides
setting background image in this dialog, there
is also a much simpler way to set the background image - when you drag any
suitable bitmap (.bmp) file from the Windows Explorer to the main UI of 24Guru, the image in this file will be set as the background image of 24Guru immediately.
11.4 Adjusting Background
Sound Effect
There
are two kinds of music/sound effect for 24Guru:
1)
Background music - general background music, background music for training,
training game and the 4 World Cup games.
2)
Event sound - sound effect when some event happens, such as when 24Guru
responses "true" or "false" after you submitted an answer or
answer list.
The
background music under different situations can be set individually at the
"Background Music" dialog, which can be opened by the menu command
"Background Music..." under "Music" submenu. You can set
background music as well as enable background music or not for each scene -
general, training, training game...etc.
Usually
the background music for a scene should be a midi music (".mid" or ".rmi") file, but a waveform (".wav") file is also acceptable.
The music will be played in loop.
Same
as setting background images, you can also drag a music file onto 24Guru
to be the background music for current scene. When dragging a music file to 24Guru, besides ".mid", ".rmi" and ".wav"
file, you can also set
".mp3" and ".wma" file as the background music, 24Guru will run the default MP3 or WMA player, such as WinAMP, to play
the file. No loop
will be available if the background music is an MP3 or WMA file. If you really
hope to play it again after the default player has finished playing such music file, you
can switch off and then on the "Music On" command under
"Music" submenu to do it.
If
you don't like to listen to any sound - background music or event sound - at
all, you can switch off the "Music On" flag under the
"Music" submenu.
