24 Calculator 1.3 (Magic Palace) Beta (July 2004)

1. Increased input compatibilities for Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese - Though we don't suggest Chinese users to input double-byte number / operators within their answers, 24 Calculator now can recognize answers including Simplified Chinese character(s) when the UI language is Simplified Chinese, or answers including Traditional Chinese character(s) when the UI language is Traditional Chinese.

2. Chm format help center - Help center was now reorganized in chm format files, so the total size is smaller, and it can open faster.

3. Background image support - Now 24 Calculator support background image again, user can drag any favorite bitmap (.bmp) file to the main UI of 24 Calculator to be its new background image.

4. Background music and sound effect support - now there have been different background music in different scene (general status, training, training game, 4 World Cup games). Event sound effect is also available. User can drag any music file (midi, waveform or MP3/WMA) to the main UI of 24 Calculator to be the new background music for current scene.

24 Calculator 1.2.1 (March 2004)

1. Hold of 24 Calculator Web Edition - We decided to hold the release of 24 Calculator Web Edition. Since the standard edition is not very large, and the web edition is not obvious much smaller, we can save some time and focus on refining major functions.

2. An overall refinement of the English language in UI, documentation and corresponding pages at our website.

24 Calculator 1.2 (February-March 2004)

1. License change - To promote the development of 24 Calculator, this product was changed to a shareware since this version, so we can have fund to keep improving it in the future. The fundamental function of this product can be used free of charge, if you hope to use advanced features after evaluation period, you should buy a license for this product.

2. Breakdown of installation packs - Installation pack of 24 Calculator was broken down into standard edition, web edition and Simplified Chinese edition. Web edition has no local User's Guide, when user of 24 Calculator web edition presses F1 for help, if the corresponding help topic is discussed in User's Guide, help pages in 24 Calculator online help center at Anasoft Studio will be opened. Web edition is somewhat smaller, suitable for fast download.

3. New rule introduced - A new rule for similar solution was introduced in 24 Calculator, so some 1-related calculations are now stricter and more reasonable than before.

4. Some UI related changes:

a) To reduce the size of installation pack, we have cut off the function of setting a bitmap file as the UI image by dragging a bitmap file into the UI, or opening a bitmap file from disk. So it's not necessary for us to include UI images in the installation pack. User can still change color of the main UI by the command "Background" under the "UI" menu. Now installation pack of 24 Calculator is smaller than before.

b) UI of 24 Calculator can be enlarged and restored by setting on or off "Enlarged UI" under UI menu.

c) Timer appearing during World Cup or training/training games flickers under some OS, now it was move to the upper right of the UI, and not flickers any more.

24 Calculator 1.1 (September 25-26, 2003)

1. Perfect solution engine - Anasoft setup a mechanism of cross-verification between irrelevant solutions provided by 24 Calculator, and all possible theoretical solutions of all 24 points problems under standard rule and advanced rule. Under this leading mechanism, all algorithm-related bugs in 24 Calculator were dug out and fixed. Now the solution engine of 24 Calculator has been perfect.

2. "Difficulty Level" and training, test and comments on multiple solutions for one question - for the first time as a software program in mankind, 24 Calculator began to support training, test and comments on multiple solutions for one question. This support applies for both standard rule and advanced rule. Such a technique means 24 Calculator has become a mature 24 points program which provides most of what we are expecting for a 24 points software.

3. New-version auto-detection and download - if the network connection of the computer running of 24 Calculator has no problem, when a new version or a new build of 24 Calculator has been available at Anasoft Studio, 24 Calculator can detect it; it will prompt you about the new, and help you download it and start installation procedure.

4. Customizable background - background color and background image can be customized.

24 Calculator 1.0 (September 7-8, 2003)

This is the first release of 24 Calculator. It was released as a freeware.

1. 3 UI languages - English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese.

2. Support J (11),Q (12) and K (13) as an option - user can choose to play with numbers between 1-10, or between 1-13.

3. Support standard rule and advanced rule - user can choose between standard rule (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and advanced rule (standard rule + power and root).

5. Complete list of all irrelevant solutions for all questions - providing complete list of all irrelevant solutions for all 24 points problems under different rules.

6. Training, training game - training and training game with enough options for a user to be trained into a top 24 game player.
